 Bible Guide Publications is a ministry of David and Stephanie Merling.  Stephanie and David combine their talents to produce books on topics about which the Bible is clear, but the subjects are, most often, misunderstood.  Using the Bible, history, and commonsense, David provides the content of the books, while Stephanie oversees the proofreading and layout.  David has a Ph.D. in biblical archaeology from Andrews University, where he taught for more than 20 years.  Stephanie has a masters of arts degree in speech-language pathology from Western Michigan University. 

David and Stephanie have shared ministry for nearly 50 years.  Their interest is in educating those who have a curiosity about the Bible with a willingness to learn. 

Dr. Merling was a professor of archaeology and history of antiquity at Andrews University. Among the many classes he taught were archaeolgy, biblical geography, and Hebrew.   In his 21 years at Andrews University, he served as the curator of the Horn Archaeological Museum and co-director of the Tell Jalul excavations at Tell Jalul, Jordan. 

His work gave him the opportunity to travel regularly to Israel, Jordan, Syria, Egypt, Lebanon, Turkey, and Europe.  He has also taught in India, Puerto Rico, and Australia.  His hobbies include books, reading, flyfishing, golf, and hiking.
